A Weekend of BMX Celebration

Mark your calendars and prepare for a weekend of exhilarating BMX action and heartfelt nostalgia as Sarasota BMX commemorates its 50th Anniversary from May 31st to June 2nd. This special event is not just a milestone for Sarasota BMX but also a significant fundraiser for the Florida BMX Foundation, Inc. Proceeds from this event will support the creation of the Florida BMX Museum, preserving the rich history and heritage of BMX in Florida.

Saturday Night Anniversary Dinner

The highlight of the weekend is the Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, June 1st, from 6-9pm at the Potter Building, Sarasota Fairgrounds (2896 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34237). Tickets are on sale now, and space is limited! Don’t miss your chance to be part of this historic evening.

  • -7pm:** Single Point Celebration Race with Commemorative Awards and 50/50 Raffle
  • -Pro-Am Race:** Featuring a $500 purse with no entry fee
  • -Half-Time, Half-Track Old Timer Race**

**Saturday, June 1**

At Sarasota BMX (1590 N Tuttle Ave, Sarasota Fl34237)

  • – 9am-3pm:** BMX Nostalgia – Display, Sell & Swap all things BMX
  • – **12pm:** Registration for Poker Run and Legends of BMX Meet & Greet

Fundraiser Dinner

At the Potter Building, Sarasota Fairgrounds (2896 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34237)
  • 6pm:-Doors open for the Celebration Dinner
  • 7-9pm:** Dinner with honors, Silent Auction, and Chinese Auction to benefit the Florida BMX Foundation

  • - 8am:** Bagels & Coffee at the track
  • - 9am:** Legacy Trail Poker Run with BMX Legends "Termite", Hudson & Percy Owens ($10 entry fee)

This weekend is a must-attend for anyone who has been part of the BMX community, is currently involved, or wants to join. The event is free to attend, and there will be free parking, a full concession stand, and plenty of food and drinks. Come and reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate five decades of BMX history.

In addition, Sunday’s 1st Annual Legacy Ride and Poker Run promises to be a memorable event. Bring your bike, join the ride, and be part of the future annual tradition.
